About Us
Hyman and Hyman has a long and distinct history. The Hyman family has been practicing law in Ohio for over 75 years. It’s an exciting time for the firm, having served the community for almost 40 years.
Harvey E. Hyman
Harvey E. Hyman, born February 28, 1917, grew up in Paulding, Ohio. He graduated from Paulding High School, where he excelled in sports, in 1935. He attended Ohio University on a football scholarship and completed his undergraduate work there. Harv attended law school at Ohio Northern University where he also played football and graduated in 1940. During both World War II and the Korean War, Harv served in the U.S. Army. He was a Captain in the U.S. Army Reserve. Harvey held numerous elected positions in Paulding County including serving as Paulding County Prosecutor, Common Pleas Court Judge (Regular Division), and as Paulding County Probate and Juvenile Court Judge during which time he developed a unique and effective Juvenile Diversion program in conjunction with the 4H organization. This program was much emulated around the country. He married Juanita Marjorie Jacobs in 1939 and the couple had four children.
David A. Hyman
David A. Hyman, a son of Harv and Marge, was born on February 2, 1954 and grew up in Paulding, Ohio. He graduated from Paulding High School in 1972 and attended Ohio Northern University for both his undergraduate and law school educations. Upon graduation and admission to the Ohio Bar in 1978, Dave joined his father’s law firm, Hyman, McMaster, Cook, and Webb, in Paulding and also served as Assistant Paulding County Prosecutor. Over the ensuing years, he served as Solicitor for numerous Paulding County Villages and is a former Chairman of the Northwest Ohio Bar Association Grievance Committee, serving for as a member for several decades. David married Jacqueline Sue Meeks in 1978. Dave and Jackie have five children. Jackie has been the Probate Secretary at Hyman and Hyman, Ltd. for many years.
